About Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
BDS is a five-year undergraduate professional healthcare program that trains students in oral anatomy, dental radiology, prosthodontics, periodontics, and oral maxillofacial surgery. It incorporates four academic years of classroom and clinical instruction alongside a mandatory 1-year rotatory clinical internship.
Governed by the Dental Council of India (DCI), admissions are granted solely through NEET UG. Dental graduates can operate private dental practices, work in multispecialty hospital dental wings, or pursue MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) for specialized orthodontics and surgical careers.
BDS Admission & Eligibility Overview
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% aggregate marks and NEET UG qualification.
